...Barock-Landhof Burkhardt, an aristocratic country house, situated in the historical village of Spitz, today serves as an hotel garni. This architectural gem, close to the Danube,  is an  authentic testimony of Wachau romanticism and history of a riverine landscape.  The house, which served in early days as vintage estate for a Bavarian monastary, has been converted during  the Baroque period in the style of the era and is already  in the 7th generation of family ownership. The large garden, embraced by roses, provides the right ambience  to relax and recreate  under walnut, pear and apricot trees. At the same time this quaint place is an excellent  starting point for hiking trails with picturesque views on the viniculture and  riverine landscape around Spitz or excursions to famous monasteries and castles.  Charming wine restaurants as well as renowned vinemakers are in the  neigbourhood; it is therefore an ideal place for gourmets and wine connoisseurs.
